Nigeria’s Finance Minister, Wale Edun has delivered a message of optimism, assuring the nation that the economy is on the mend and that citizens can expect to see the benefits soon. “We’re on the right track,” Edun stated, signalling a positive shift in the country’s economic trajectory.
During an interview at the Democracy Day celebration in Abuja, Edun highlighted the significant economic improvements under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership. “The message to Nigerians is that there is hope for better days to come and in a very near future,” he remarked, pointing to the administration’s commitment to ensuring that the economic turnaround is felt by all. Edun emphasized the government’s focus on food production and distribution as key areas of progress.
“There is tremendous focus on food production. That is the key area to focus on now because the economy has been put on track. People must feel it and must feel it soon,” he explained, underlining the urgency of tangible improvements in the daily lives of citizens. Describing President Tinubu as “a man of the people and from the grassroots,” Edun expressed confidence that the President is fully aware of the needs of the people and is committed to translating the economic turnaround into real benefits for all Nigerians.
