Victor Osimhen Rejects Fenerbahce Approach Amid Rising European Interest

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly declined an offer from Fenerbahce, making it clear that a transfer to their Istanbul rivals is not under consideration.

Currently on loan from Serie A side Napoli, the Nigerian international is expected to be one of the most sought-after players during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Osimhen has been in outstanding form for Galatasaray, registering 29 goals and six assists in 33 appearances across all competitions. His performances have played a crucial role in the club’s pursuit of a domestic league and cup double.

While Galatasaray are eager to retain him on a permanent basis, Osimhen’s form has drawn significant attention from several major European clubs. Juventus view him as a possible replacement for Dusan Vlahovic, while Barcelona see the 26-year-old as a potential long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski.

Reigning Champions League winners Real Madrid are also reportedly monitoring his situation, along with long-time admirers Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite this high-profile interest, Osimhen’s ultimate ambition is understood to be a move to the Premier League. Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United are all keeping close tabs on the striker’s status ahead of the transfer window.

In a surprising twist, Fenerbahce made an effort to sign Osimhen, enlisting the help of a prominent agent to facilitate negotiations. However, the player quickly dismissed the proposal. Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba, who is close to the forward, confirmed on social media that the approach was immediately rejected.

“Fenerbahce involved a high-profile agent to try and convince Victor Osimhen, but the attempt was quickly rebuffed. Bigger clubs are in the mix. A final decision will be made after the season,” Laba stated.

This development is a blow for Fenerbahce, who currently trail Galatasaray by three points in the Turkish Süper Lig and have already been eliminated from the Turkish Cup by their city rivals Osimhen notably scoring in that match. A season without silverware appears increasingly likely for José Mourinho’s side.

While some players in the past have made the move between the two Istanbul giants, Osimhen is expected to remain loyal to Galatasaray for the remainder of his loan spell.

His impact on the pitch has not only made him a fan favorite but also positioned him as one of the most coveted forwards in European football.

Osimhen’s Napoli contract reportedly includes a €75 million release clause, which becomes valid for non-Italian clubs. Napoli sporting director Mauro Meluso has acknowledged the clause, and several top teams are believed to be ready to meet it once the window opens.

With numerous elite clubs vying for his signature, Osimhen’s future is set to be one of the summer’s key transfer narratives—though one thing is certain: Fenerbahce is no longer in the running
