Tinubu Government Calls Emergency Meeting Over Planned August 1 Nationwide Protest

As tensions mount over a planned nationwide protest scheduled for August 1st, the Federal Government has convened an emergency meeting for today, July 24. President Bola Tinubu also made a plea to the protest organizers and other Nigerians to reconsider their plans and give his administration more time to address their concerns.
The #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria movement, which has gained momentum across the country, seeks accountability, transparency, and improved governance. Citizens are demanding action on issues such as corruption, insecurity, and economic challenges.
In response to the impending protest, the government aims to engage with stakeholders and find common ground. However, protesters remain steadfast in their resolve to hold demonstrations on August 1, emphasizing the urgency of their demands.
