Ronaldo Responds to Victory, Closing in on Messi’s Goal Record: ‘This is Only the Beginning
Former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo expressed optimism following Al Nassr’s commanding 4-1 victory over Al-Feiha on Tuesday.
The football legend, now 39, played a key role in the win, contributing both a goal and an assist, and encouraged his teammates to maintain their strong form as the league season progresses.
Ronaldo assisted Talisca’s opening goal just five minutes into the match at the King Abdullah Sport City Stadium in Buraydah, before adding his own goal to the scoresheet. He also netted his first free-kick of the season during the tenth minute of stoppage time, bringing his career tally of free-kick goals to 64—just one shy of rival Lionel Messi’s record.
With this goal, Ronaldo now stands at an impressive 899 goals in his career for both club and country. Al Nassr extended their lead to 3-0 thanks to a late strike from Marcelo Brozovic in the 85th minute, and although Al-Feiha managed to pull one back, Talisca secured his second goal in the fifth minute of stoppage time, sealing the comprehensive victory.
Despite the win, Al Nassr remains two points behind league leaders Al-Qadisiyah. After the match, Ronaldo took to social media platform X, writing: “This is only the beginning! Let’s go @AlNassrFC!”
