Plateau Gov Relaxes Curfew in Jos-Bukuru Metropolis
The Plateau State Government has decided to ease the curfew restrictions in the Jos-Bukuru metropolis. The revised curfew now permits residents to move freely between 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. daily.
The initial imposition of the 24-hour curfew was a response to the violent protests triggered by the “End Bad Governance” movement. Unfortunately, during this period, hoodlums exploited the situation to loot public and private properties in Jos North Local Government Area.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang, in consultation with security agencies, made the decision to relax the curfew. He emphasized that the government’s actions are always guided by the best interests of the people. As the security situation improves, further adjustments to the curfew will be considered.
Residents are urged to cooperate with security personnel and promptly report any suspicious activities. Balancing peace and citizens’ rights remains a top priority for the state administration.
