Orlando Pirates midfielder Thabiso Sesane has dedicated his team’s MTN8 Cup victory to teammate Olisah Ndah, who was sidelined due to injury.

Ndah, a key figure for the Pirates, missed the final against Stellenbosch, where the team secured a 3-1 win at Moses Mabhida Stadium. Despite his absence, late goals from Mabasa and Rokofeng ensured a third consecutive MTN8 title for the Buccaneers.

Speaking after being named man of the match, Sesane highlighted Ndah’s influence, saying, “Olisa’s leadership and presence were greatly missed, but we’re thrilled to have won this title for him and the team,” in a post-match interview with SABC Sports.

Ndah, who had previously captained the Pirates to two MTN8 triumphs, is currently recovering from an injury that also rules him out of Nigeria’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations 2025 qualifiers against Libya. He joins Victor Osimhen on the injury list, but the one-time NPFL Champion is eager to return to action.

Since joining Orlando Pirates in 2021, Ndah has solidified his position as one of the top center-backs in the South African Premier Division. His consistent performances have drawn attention from European clubs, with a move to Italian Serie A side Sassuolo rumored last season, though the transfer did not materialize.
