NSCDC Pledges to Honor Anikpe’s Legacy After Tragic Building Collapse

The Anambra State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Comdt. Maku Olatunde, has assured the family of the late DSC Stanley Anikpe that his memory will not be forgotten.

Anikpe tragically lost his life in the collapse of a two-storey building under construction at Ekeoyibo market, Amawbia, in Awka South Local Government Area.

During a condolence visit on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, Comdt. Olatunde, leading a delegation of top management officials, pledged the Command’s support for the bereaved family, urging them to find solace in Anikpe’s exemplary life.

He conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, highlighting Anikpe’s invaluable service to the Corps. Anikpe’s widow, Mrs. Florence Anikpe, expressed gratitude for the visit, which she described as a profound gesture of solidarity and compassion from the NSCDC.

The visit concluded with prayers for the grieving family, following the tragic incident that occurred on Thursday, July 4, 2024, resulting in the building collapse that trapped several traders and buyers.
