Norwich City have rejected an offer from Celtic for striker Adam Idah
Norwich City told STV they received an offer from Celtic for Adam Idah but rejected it.
Idah was loaned to Celtic for half of last season and performed well, helping the team to the league and cup double.
The Championship side want to sign the 23-year-old on a permanent contract and he has already moved on, but Championship clubs want Ida, who has four years left on his contract.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has made it clear he wants to sign the 23-year-old on a permanent basis and help him develop in Glasgow. At the end of the season, he said that Ayda was “very good” and that “obviously” she was the player he wanted to continue working with.
Celtic had no option to buy the Republic of Ireland international at the end of his loan spell, so Idah returned to Carrow Road with Norwich City’s new manager Johannes Hof Thorup keen to consider him in any selections. It was learned that the British champion received an offer from Celtic in the last 48 hours, but was rejected on Wednesday.
Idah made 19 appearances for Celtic in the second half of the season and scored 9 goals; this included the win in the Scottish Cup final against Rangers.
After that match Rodgers said of the great player: “That was a real boost for us. “What he has shown since his arrival is that he is a player. Very good head, good movements in the penalty area.
“He was very important for us and he is a person I want to play with. “
