NBA Offers Free Legal Services to Protesters Demanding an End to Bad Governance in Nigeria
In response to widespread discontent over governance issues in Nigeria, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has taken a proactive step to support citizens exercising their right to protest. The demonstrations, organized by various civil society groups, demand accountability, transparency, and an end to corruption.

The NBA, representing legal professionals across the country, has announced that it will provide free legal services to protesters who face legal challenges during the demonstrations. This move aims to ensure that protesters’ rights are protected and that they receive fair treatment under the law.
The NBA’s legal assistance includes representation, advice, and guidance for protesters who may encounter legal issues such as arrests, detainment, or court proceedings.
Lawyers affiliated with the NBA have volunteered their services on a pro bono basis, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding citizens’ constitutional rights.
The NBA encourages peaceful demonstrations and advocates for dialogue between protesters and government authorities to address grievances.
Citizens have welcomed the NBA’s initiative, viewing it as a positive step toward promoting justice and accountability.
