Lagos Government Cracks Down on Environmental Law Violators: Churches, Hotels, and Bars Sealed

The Lagos State Government has ramped up its enforcement of the State Environmental Laws of 2017, ultimate down numerous companies and non secular establishments observed in violation. In a sweeping operation conducted by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) on Tuesday, multiple establishments in Ojo Local Government Area were sealed, including churches, hotels, bars, an event center, and a recycling company.

LASEPA’s General Manager, Babatunde Ajayi, emphasized the agency’s unwavering commitment to maintaining environmental standards across Lagos. “We will now no longer hesitate to take vital movements in opposition to any status quo that fails to conform with the state’s environmental regulations,” Ajayi stated, urging groups to be extra accountable.

Ajayi also reassured Lagosians of LASEPA’s dedication to ensuring a clean and safe environment, warning that the agency will continue to monitor compliance and take decisive action against violators.

The establishments sealed during the operation include Rockslide Gospel Church, Unique Caesar & Bar, Recycling Company, New Yorker Hotel, Flex Bar & Spa Hotel, Mountain of Faith International Gospel, Jesus International Christian Church, VLC Donald Restaurant & Event Centre, Zion Believers Church, and VLC Donald Hotel.
