Kebbi Mourns Loss of Two More Hajj Pilgrims

Kebbi State is grieving the loss of two more Hajj pilgrims. Hajiya Maryamu Mayalo of Maiyama Local Government Area passed away in Mecca after a prolonged illness, while Alhaji Malami Besse of Koko Besse died shortly after returning to Kebbi from Saudi Arabia.

The Executive Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Faruk Inabo, disclosed these developments in a statement on Sunday. Mayalo died at King Abdulazeez Hospital in Makka and will be buried after Asr prayer at Haram Mosque according to Islamic rites.

These recent deaths bring the total number of deceased Hajj pilgrims from Kebbi State to five this year. Previously, Tawalkatu Alako from Jega LGA, Abubakar Argungu, and Muhammad Suleiman from Argungu LGA had also passed away.

Saudi Arabian authorities reported that approximately 1,300 Hajj pilgrims died during this year’s pilgrimage, primarily due to heat waves.

Governor Nasir Idris extended his condolences to the families of the deceased, praying for Allah to grant them eternal rest and to give their families the strength to bear these irreplaceable losses.
