Israel Adesanya, the two-time UFC Middleweight champion, has successfully enhanced his financial portfolio by winning a N10 million bet on Enyimba FC during their NPFL clash against Lobi Stars.

Adesanya placed a wager of $4,000 (approximately N3 million) on Enyimba to secure a victory in their rescheduled matchday two encounter. With the team favored to win at odds of 1.48, he stood to gain around $5,920 (N10 million) if Enyimba emerged victorious, which they did.

The match began with a strong performance from Enyimba, who took an early lead when Chinedu Ufere scored just 14 minutes in. Two minutes later, Eze Ekwutoziam extended their advantage by converting a penalty, solidifying their control over the game.

Although Lobi Stars managed to respond with a goal from Waheed Adebayor in the 36th minute, they were unable to equalize, resulting in another defeat in the 2024/25 NPFL season.

This victory marked Enyimba’s second consecutive win in the league, following a 3-1 triumph against Heartland on September 8. With two matches played, Enyimba now sits in fourth place on the league table, having accrued six points while playing one game fewer than many of their rivals.

In other NPFL news, Rangers International achieved a narrow 1-0 victory over league newcomers Ikorodu City FC in Lagos, with Ugwueze Chinemerem’s header from a Kazeem Ogunleye corner proving decisive for the team.
