Harris and Trump to Face Off in September Debate on ABC as Presidential Race Heats Up

ABC News has officially announced that it will host a presidential debate on September 10, with Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump set to go head-to-head. This highly anticipated face-off is expected to draw millions of viewers as the race for the White House intensifies.

While Harris has yet to commit to additional debates on NBC or Fox, she expressed openness to further discussions after the September event. “”I enjoy to have that conversation about an extra debate, or after September 10, for sure,” Harris told reporters.

The first presidential debate between Trump and Biden in June drew over 51 million viewers, a turning point that ultimately led to Biden stepping down and Harris stepping up as the Democratic candidate. Since then, Harris’s campaign has gained significant momentum, with recent polls showing her pulling ahead of Trump in key swing states.

As Harris’s popularity surges, the Trump campaign has struggled to find a consistent strategy against her. In his first press conference since Harris named Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, Trump made several controversial remarks, including mispronouncing Harris’s name and questioning her racial identity.

With the stage now set for the September 10 debate, all eyes will be on Harris and Trump as they prepare to engage in what could be a defining moment in the 2024 presidential race.
