Ex-convict, Two Others Nabbed Over Ekiti Killings
The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adeniran Akinwale, announced the arrest of three suspects in connection with a series of killings, kidnappings, and attacks on Point of Sales (POS) operators in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
The suspects include:
1. Omowaye Ayodele, an ex-convict who recently completed his jail term. Ayodele confessed to being part of a kidnapping syndicate responsible for abducting former Deputy Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Prof. Femi Olaofe.
2. Ojo Temidayo, who played a role in the robbery and shooting of a woman, Aina Adeyemi, on June 7 at the Federal Polytechnic Satellite Campus area. Adeyemi was robbed and shot dead by a gunman riding an unregistered Boxer Bajaj motorcycle.
3. BusarĂ Lookman, who confessed to shooting the victim and robbing her of N155,000 during the same incident. Lookman implicated another accomplice, Sunday Onyema, who is currently at large.
The suspects targeted various POS operators across Ado Ekiti, including locations in Bawa Estate Area and Better Life Area. The police are intensifying efforts to apprehend the remaining gang member and recover the arms used in their criminal activities.
