“The Dangote Refinery will significantly boost our economy by increasing local production of refined petroleum products,” Abiodun stated. “This will help eliminate the recurring issue of fuel scarcity that has plagued our nation for years.”
He also emphasized the importance of the refinery in conserving foreign exchange. “By reducing our dependence on imported fuel, we can conserve valuable foreign exchange, which can be redirected to other critical sectors of the economy,” Abiodun explained.
The refinery, which is expected to produce 650,000 barrels of oil per day, is seen as a game-changer for Nigeria’s oil and gas industry. It is anticipated to create thousands of jobs and stimulate economic growth in various sectors.
Governor Abiodun’s remarks reflect widespread optimism about the potential of the Dangote Refinery to transform Nigeria’s economic landscape and enhance energy security.
