Spanish club Sevilla has officially completed the registration of Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho for the current La Liga season.

Iheanacho, who joined Sevilla following the expiration of his contract with Leicester City this summer, made his debut for the club two weeks ago in a 4-1 defeat to Liverpool. However, he missed Sevilla’s opening La Liga match against Las Palmas due to issues with registration under the league’s financial regulations. The club managed to resolve this issue after Argentine defender Marcos Acuna’s transfer to River Plate.

On Wednesday, Spanish journalist Gonzalo Tortosa confirmed that Sevilla has successfully registered Iheanacho for the season. He will now be available for selection in Sevilla’s upcoming match against Villarreal at Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán on Friday.

Despite this, Iheanacho may not start, as Isaac Romero led the attack in the previous match and is expected to do so again. Sevilla has a strong record against Villarreal at home, having won three of their last five encounters at the Sánchez Pizjuán, and will be hoping to secure their first victory of the season.
