Commissioner Praises Fubara’s Transformation Of Basic Education In Rivers
The Commissioner for Education in River State, Dr. Ovy O.C. Chukwuma, has commended the efforts of Governor Siminalayi Fubara in transforming education. Speaking during a courtesy visit to an education services organization, NewGlobe, Chukwuma highlighted the Governor’s commitment to achieving social and economic elevation for the people of the state through educational development.
Governor Fubara outlined several initiatives and plans to improve basic education in Rivers State.
These include consolidating current investments in the education sector to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Budgetary allocations will be increased to meet funding requirements for access, quality, equity, and infrastructure maintenance.
The Governor aims to address issues related to out-of-school children and dropout rates within Rivers State communities.
Recruitment, training, and deployment of adequate teachers will improve the teacher-to-pupil ratio.
Technology and digital facilities will be introduced in public schools to prepare students for the global digital economy.
Dr. Chukwuma expressed satisfaction with the technology used during the visit.
He praised the teacher tablets for enhancing efficiency and classroom engagement.
The Rivers State Government is exploring the implementation of a technology-enabled system for basic education, including digital learning platforms and intensive teacher training.
