Briton Declared Wanted in Nigeria for Alleged Plot to Topple Tinubu’s Government
In a dramatic turn of events, the Nigeria Police Force has declared a British national, Andrew Wynne, wanted for allegedly orchestrating a plot to overthrow President Bola Tinubu’s government. Wynne, also known by aliases Andrew Povich and Drew Povey, is accused of building a network of sleeper cells aimed at destabilizing the nation.
According to police spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Wynne rented a space at Labour House in Abuja, where he operated an ‘Iva Valley Bookshop’ and established ‘STARS of Nations Schools’ as fronts for his subversive activities. The police allege that Wynne provided financial and operational guidance to orchestrate violent protests and disseminate false information, with the ultimate goal of creating anarchy and justifying an unconstitutional regime change.
The police have launched a comprehensive investigation into Wynne’s activities, which they claim were backed by substantial foreign funding. Nine suspects have already been apprehended in connection with the plot¹. The authorities are urging the public to provide any information that could lead to Wynne’s arrest, emphasizing the importance of maintaining national stability and security.
This development has sparked a wave of reactions across Nigeria, with some activists defending Wynne as a committed socialist dedicated to non-violent causes and workers’ rights.
