BREAKING!!! Labour Union Calls Off Strike
The organized labor has introduced its decision to immediately halt their strike, which had just begun a day ago, opposing the brand-new base pay.
It would certainly be remembered that the National Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) had proclaimed an uncertain strike on Monday, June 3rd, 2024, adhering to a meeting with the federal government’s tripartite board to negotiate the new minimum wage.
The federal government had proposed an amount of N60,000, which fell much short of the N494,000 required by the Organized labor. Talking with the press on Tuesday, May 4, NLC chairman Joe Ajaero disclosed that, adhering to a useful discussion with the committee, the union is putting on hold the strike for one week, permitting the federal government time to fulfill their dedications.
