Borussia Dortmund Coach Resigned
Edin Terzic resigned as coach of Borussia Dortmund, claiming that a “new era” was needed in the club. He resigned after leading the team to the Champions League final, where they lost 0–2 to Real Madrid on 1 June. He worked for five years and was a coach for two and a half years.
Despite the team’s poor performance in the German league, Terzic led Dortmund to the Champions League final, a performance that surprised many. During his tenure, he won the 2021 German Cup as interim coach and led the team to second place in the Bundesliga in 2023, but missed the competition due to a different goal.
However, Dortmund finished fifth in the Bundesliga this season, their worst finish in the last nine years, and were eliminated from the German Cup in the last sixteen. Although no statement has been made yet, Hin is a candidate to become the leader. In his statement, Terzic expressed his gratitude to the club and the fans and said that it was a difficult decision to leave after deep discussions. Sporting director Sebastian Kehl praised Terzic’s contribution to the club and said he will be part of the team’s success over the last few years.
Terzic’s departure marks the end of an era at Dortmund and the club now hope to turning things around under a new coach.
