Bobrisky Warns Against Money Spraying After Release From Prison
Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, a controversial cross-dresser and social media influencer, has issued a stern warning to Nigerians regarding the practice of spraying naira notes at parties. Freshly released from prison after serving a six-month sentence, Bobrisky shared his cautionary message in an interview with Goldmyne TV.
The backstory: In April of this year, Bobrisky was arrested and detained by the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Lagos for abusing naira notes during a social event. He pleaded guilty to the charges but expressed ignorance about the laws prohibiting such behavior. Despite his plea for leniency, he was convicted and sentenced to six months in prison without an option of a fine.
Upon his release, the cross-dresser expressed gratitude to his fans and vowed to return to his old lifestyle. However, in a dramatic shift, he now advises against money spraying. His words resonate with a stark reality: “Don’t spray money unless you’ll be a landlord inside Kirikiri,” he cautioned. “Something light like this can take you there.”
Bobrisky’s experience serves as a reminder that flouting the law—even seemingly minor actions—can have serious consequences. As he resumes his public life, it remains to be seen whether his message will curb the widespread practice of money spraying at Nigerian parties.
