Augustine Eguavoen Confirms Continued Role as Interim Super Eagles Coach Despite Rumors
Augustine Eguavoen, Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has dispelled rumors suggesting he has resigned as interim coach of the Super Eagles.
Eguavoen, who was appointed to lead the team through the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda, remains in his role following the NFF’s failed attempt to secure German coach Bruno Labbadia due to restrictive tax regulations.
After leading Nigeria to a 3-0 victory over Benin Republic and a goalless draw with Rwanda, Eguavoen addressed inaccurate reports about his resignation.
He affirmed his commitment to his role and emphasized his focus on preparing the team for the upcoming qualifiers against Libya.
