Appeal Court Orders Ex-Governor Yahaya Bello to Surrender Himself for Arraignment

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has ordered former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, to present himself for arraignment in the N80 billion money laundering case pending against him at the Federal High Court in Abuja. A three-member panel led by Hamma Barka gave this order after dismissing appeals filed by Mr. Bello seeking to stop his arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Mr. Bello faces 19 counts of money laundering, involving over N80 billion, which he allegedly diverted from the Kogi State Government’s treasury. Despite multiple court sessions scheduled for his arraignment, he has evaded trial.
