Alvin Obinna Okoro: Juventus and AC Milan Compete for N1.2 Billion Nigerian Talent
Juventus and AC Milan are currently in a heated competition for the services of 19-year-old striker Alvin Obinna Okoro, who is impressing at Serie C club Vis Pesaro. The Nigerian-Italian forward, on loan from Venezia, has captured the attention of both Serie A giants as they look to strengthen their respective under-23 teams, according to reports from TMW.
Okoro has made an immediate impact this season, netting four goals and contributing two assists in his early appearances for Vis Pesaro. The young forward is known for his versatility, primarily operating as a second striker but also capable of playing on the wing.
His strong performances have led to increased interest, with Juventus particularly keen on adding Okoro to their Next Gen squad in Serie C. The Bianconeri have already approached Venezia with a proposal for a loan deal that includes an option to buy. However, Venezia, who value Okoro at €1.2 million (roughly N1.9 billion), are reportedly seeking a loan agreement with a mandatory purchase clause.
AC Milan, though interested, have been hesitant to meet Venezia’s demands, preferring a more straightforward loan with an option to purchase. This difference in approach has caused negotiations to slow down.
Okoro’s potential continues to rise. After beginning his career at Pordenone’s youth academy, he made his Serie B debut at just 17 years and 23 days, marking him as one of the youngest players to feature in the 2021-22 season. Following a permanent move to Venezia in 2022, he was loaned to Vis Pesaro in 2024, where he has flourished in Serie C.
Born in Vicenza to Nigerian parents, Okoro holds dual eligibility to represent either Italy or Nigeria at the international level, although he has not yet received a call-up from either country.
With Juventus and Milan both eager to secure his signature, the upcoming January transfer window is poised to be a crucial moment in Okoro’s promising career.
