Shettima Heads to Sweden for Talks on Tech, Innovation, and Business Opportunities

Vice President Kashim Shettima is set to embark on a two-day visit to Sweden, representing Nigeria in high-level bilateral engagements aimed at strengthening collaboration in key sectors. The visit, scheduled to begin on Thursday, underscores Nigeria’s commitment to fostering international partnerships in technology, innovation, and business.
During his visit, Shettima will meet with Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and the Swedish Prime Minister. These discussions are expected to explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation in areas such as information and communication technology (ICT), innovation, education, digitalization, sustainable transport, mining, and agriculture.
A significant highlight of the visit will be Shettima’s meeting with Norrsken, a Stockholm-based venture capital impact investor. Norrsken recently launched Norrsken22, a $205 million tech investment fund for Africa, with 40% of its investments earmarked for Nigerian technology entrepreneurs. This meeting aims to provide insights into how Nigerian entrepreneurs can benefit from this fund, further strengthening the technology ecosystem in Nigeria.
In addition to government officials, Shettima will engage with key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors. He will articulate Nigeria’s economic vision and the ongoing reforms aimed at creating a business-friendly environment for investors. The Vice President’s agenda includes showcasing the myriad of opportunities available in Africa’s largest economy, emphasizing Nigeria’s potential as a hub for innovation and sustainable development.
This visit marks a significant step in Nigeria’s efforts to attract foreign investment and foster international collaboration. Shettima’s engagements in Sweden are expected to pave the way for new partnerships and investments that will drive economic growth and technological advancement in Nigeria.
