CHOLERA OUTBREAK: LAWMA Boss Urges Residents to Prioritize Hygiene and Waste Management
In response to the recent cholera outbreak, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, the Managing Director/CEO of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), has issued a stern call to action. He emphasized the critical need for residents to adopt preventive measures to curb the spread of this deadly disease
Dr. Gbadegesin stressed the importance of personal hygiene. Residents are urged to practice frequent hand-washing with soap and adhere to food safety practices.
He said, “The outbreak of cholera in the state is a serious public health concern. It is imperative that every resident takes proactive measures to prevent further spread of the disease. Ensuring proper personal and domestic hygiene, including efficient waste management, will go a long way in curbing the spread of the fatal disease”.
