22-year-old Super Falcons Defender Parts Ways with Reims to Join Victor Osimhen at Galatasaray
Nigerian international and Super Falcons defender Tosin Demehin has officially departed from French Ligue 1 club Stade de Reims Féminines after a two-year spell.
The talented defender is now set to continue her career in Turkey, joining Galatasaray, the same club where Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen plays.
Demehin shared the news of her transfer on social media, expressing gratitude for her time in France. Just days later, she made her debut for her new Turkish team in a high-scoring UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) match against Slavia Prague.
In her farewell message, Demehin reflected on her time at Reims, stating:
“After amazing years and seasons in Reims, I want to thank everyone for the opportunity to be part of those moments. To the fans, thank you for your support during both challenging and good times. Reims is a special place, and now I truly understand what ‘Remoises’ means. I wish everyone a successful season ahead.”
Demehin joined Stade de Reims in 2022 from Nigeria Women’s Football League side Rivers Angels after impressing during the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica. Her performances caught the attention of several European clubs, eventually leading to her move to France.
During her time with Reims, Demehin made 26 appearances, scoring one goal and establishing herself as a key player in the French top flight. Her solid performances earned her a place in the Super Falcons squad for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and helped secure Nigeria’s qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Now with Galatasaray, Demehin joins a growing list of Nigerian players making a name for themselves across European leagues. Having already made her debut in Turkey, she looks set to continue building on her success and making a strong impact in her new chapter with Galatasaray.
