2027 Showdown: Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso, and El-Rufai Plot Alliance to Dethrone Tinubu, Says PDP

In a dramatic twist ahead of the 2027 presidential election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has revealed that key opposition figures—Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Nasir El-Rufai—are in talks to form a formidable alliance aimed at unseating President Bola Tinubu.

PDP spokesman Ibrahim Abdullahi, during a September 2 interview, disclosed that the trio of Atiku, Obi, and Kwankwaso are setting aside personal ambitions to forge a united front against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Abdullahi lamented that had the PDP managed its internal rifts better, heavyweights like Kwankwaso and Obi would have stayed within the party, potentially changing the outcome of the last election.

The potential merger signals a major shift in Nigeria’s political landscape, with discussions ongoing to create a powerful coalition that could reshape the 2027 election. However, not all opposition figures are on board—Omoyele Sowore, the 2023 AAC presidential candidate, has firmly rejected any alliance with the proposed bloc, staying true to his revolutionary ideals.

As Nigeria braces for a high-stakes battle, all eyes are on the opposition’s next move in this unfolding political drama.
